Meet Melanie! She is the Director of Relational Evangelism at the South Carolina Baptist Convention. A former IMB missionary to Russia and a church planter's wife, she brings years of ministry experience to her role. Currently pursuing a PhD in Leadership, Melanie is passionate about sharing the gospel and building Christ-centered communities. She and her husband, Jody, have three adult children, who love the Lord and share their passion for ministry.
Rebecca “Becca” Edney is an Ohio native with deep Southern roots. A Baptist pastor’s kid, she came to faith at eight and later married Jonathan—a hilarious, godly man. Together they followed God’s call to seminary and then to Brazil with the International Mission Board, welcoming three children along the way.
In 2020, a medical leave brought them to the Lowcountry, where God led them through a pandemic, the discovery of special needs, and the launch of a cross-cultural ministry—Comunidade Batista de Charleston—serving Brazilians in North Charleston. Becca now teaches piano, practices music therapy, and cherishes coffee, meaningful conversation, and a good nap. We can’t wait for you to hear from her!
Joyce Bradford is a South Carolina native who grew up in Union and has called Charleston home for 37 years with her husband, Curt. Together, they cherish time with their children and grandchildren while faithfully serving where the Lord leads. Joyce and Curt served at Riverbluff Church until their retirement, where she led the Women’s Ministry for many years and continues to encourage pastors’ wives and women across South Carolina through the CBA and state ministry. She has also enjoyed a 37-year career in commercial real estate. Joyce’s passion is to walk alongside women in every season of life, sharing from her ministry journey and encouraging others in their faith. Curt and Joyce plan to continue serving the Lord even in their senior years.
Staci Meador is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana, and a graduate of Louisiana College and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Following her time in seminary, she served as a Journeyman with the International Mission Board, traveling throughout North Africa and the
Middle East. During that season, she was part of a recording team for The Jesus Film Project. The Lord used those years to open her eyes and heart to other cultures and the need for global missions.
After her time overseas, she married a pastor and stepped into a whole new dimension of ministry life. Staci has been a pastor’s wife for 17 years and currently serves alongside her husband, Tommy, who serves as the pastor of Northwood Baptist Church. Staci serves in the Children’s Ministry of Northwood Baptist, where on Sunday mornings you can find her teaching the Bible to 1 st graders, and on Wednesday nights, serving 3 and 4-year-olds in Awana. Staci is the mother of two energetic boys, Luke (14) and Hudson (11). Both boys are passionate about baseball. In the rare moments away from church ministry and cheering for her boys at the ball field, she loves to travel and bargain shop. Above all, her greatest joy comes from watching others grow in their walk with Jesus!
